Conservative by-election candidate Robert Courts met with staff at a Witney-based tech company and a business hub to discuss his plan for supporting local companies and rolling out broadband across West Oxfordshire.
STL Communications, in Station Lane, is one of Oxfordshire’s leading telecommunications, broadband and mobile providers to businesses across the area.
On Friday, the Managing Director, Brendon Cross, introduced Robert to his team before taking him to the Hexagon Business Centre which provides support to more than 70 small and growing companies.
Brendon Cross said: “It was very encouraging to hear Robert talk about the importance of broadband to the survival of local businesses in West Oxfordshire. He clearly understands how important small and independent companies are to the people who live and work here and our local economy.
“I think Robert would be a strong voice in Parliament for Witney and West Oxfordshire.”
Robert said: “Local companies like Hexagon Business Centre and STL Communications are the backbone of West Oxfordshire. Not only are they home grown success stories, they also provide vital services to other businesses.
“With the help of businesses like these, the Conservative Government has made real progress connecting rural communities but I want to ensure we have superfast broadband for everyone – including those in hard-to-reach areas.
“That is why I have made broadband rollout and support for local businesses two of my key priorities in my 5-point plan.”
