Robert has welcomed the news that Oxfordshire health bosses have agreed to cancel the termination notice for Cogges GP practice.  This means that the Cogges GP partners will continue to provide primary care services to their patient list going forward.

Robert has campaigned tirelessly for a positive solution to the uncertainty surrounding Cogges Surgery, meeting frequently with the GP partners, Oxfordshire health chiefs and patients - as well as raising the issue directly with the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, in Parliament.

Reflecting on the news, Robert said: "Patients of Cogges Surgery will be delighted to know that this well-regarded surgery will remain open under the leadership of its current GP partners.

"This welcome result is testament to the dedication and passion of Cogges’ GPs - underpinned by the tenacious campaigning of patients and supported by local politicians at all levels. It is a shining example of what can be achieved when Witney comes together to work constructively for the betterment of our community.

"I look forward to catching up with the GP partners soon to discuss how we move forward in the months and years ahead."

I am very aware of concerns raised recently on the freezing of tax thresholds. I am, and always will be, a strong proponent of a low tax economy. I have long called for a clear pathway to be laid out towards lower taxation and lower regulation.
